CANFAS Project Creative Workshop session 1
Free
An art workshop to contribute to a piece of art that will appear above Stryd Llyn as part of the CANFAS project.
CANFAS is one of Galeri, Caernarfon’s community projects which is funded and supported by Gwynedd Council’s Town Transformation scheme and Arts Council of Wales’ Connect and Thrive scheme.
It is a project where we work together with the community to transform spaces and streets in Caernarfon Town by incorporating artistic and colorful work in the spaces that reflect and are based on histories, stories, and what is important to the inhabitants of the town.
These conversations are led by groups of local artists and creative individuals who base the visual work on what they hear, and interpret.
One of the artworks appears on Stryd Llyn and is designed and created by the designers, artists and two friends Ann Catrin Evans and Lois Prys. The work simulates the flow of the River Cadnant which used to flow nearby long ago with the creation being based on styles and techniques such as weaving, braiding and tying and recognizing the industrial craftsmanship that used to be associated with the street big there
